| In the library doing research and fact finding about Paris and Nice, France. Ticket prices for plane fares are relatively low now. I want to go visit Vallaris which is where Picasso made his ceramic work. So many art museums to visit in Paris and also lots more in Nice........... Jim Morrison of the Doors is buried somewhere in Paris. Got to make the trip....................... Jim | | |
| Anyone want to help me build a new kiln in my backyard? Should only take a few hours. Jim | | |
| The church service for Dr. Pelliter was very moving. His children gave moving insights into his life and his faith in God. I learned a lot about him. I never got to know him well, as some of you have. I remember he would always say the same thing to me when he saw me at church; "How's the sculpturing going?". ........................... Regarding the movie The Passion of Christ, I would recommend seeing it. Parts can be painfull to watch, especially where Jesus is beaten unmercifully. It's very bloody. But I DO believe that Mel Gibson as far as possible, portrayed the event in a factual manner, staying true to the Gospels. I saw no anti-semitism in the movie; but then-again, I'm not jewish. | Just figured out how to post a messege, ( I hope?!). I'm such a non-geek when it comes to post-modern electronic stuff. I've had my cell phone for over three weeks now and still can't figure it out. It went of in church twice! and I didn't even hear it ring! How embarassing. It was the wrong number anyway. Got to see my friend Claire today. She's so busy these days, isn't everyone. Bought the very last ticket for the opening matinee showing of The Passion of Christ. I'll give a report on potluck Wed. Going with some new friends from CCF. Movie starts at 4:00 and I don't know how long it lasts so I might miss the potluck. My friend Heather told me about a group that meets to play the music of Django Reinhardt at a new Italian restaurant on Prince. I'll have to check it out. She wants to jam and play the melody lines with me, but she plays cello, so it might be very interesting. I'll xerox sheet music for her. She's up for the challenge she said. I'm having my friend Joel up in Greenville ad more pictures to my website and delete the Turner South connection, since it is defunct these days anyway; he's kind of a 'blackeye kind of guy' anyway, Ted Turner that is. Went for a long walk and enjoyed the sunshine and warm weather on Sunday and ran into our own pastor Dan on north campus. The guitar building class is already filled and a waiting list; so it's out of the question now for me. Must save up $$$$$$$$$$$$ for a visit to France. I hope I can make it happen! best, Jim | | |
